Text: The Holy Bible (Bibles are available for students who may not have one.)
Description: Being the "Spiritual Applications" Class, emphasis will be placed on the spiritual disciplines, (which we will call the "Spiritual Applications") found in the Holy Scriptures throuought each study. The spiritual applications studied in this class include:
Prayer
Bible Reading
Service
Fasting
Bible Study
Worship
Giving
Meditation
Evangelism
Bible Study
Stewardship
Submission
Thus, this class stresses the importance of the discipline needed to be a disciple (or, follower/learner) of Jesus Christ.
Moreover, this class takes a unique approach to the study of Christ and the Christian as the study of the Holy Scriptures is conducted through the emphasis of the following major topics in the Holy Scriptures:
The Beatitudes
The Spiritual Gifts
The Sermon on the Mount
The Spiritual Disciplines
The Lord's Prayer
The Rainbow
The Fruit of the Holy Spirit
The Priestly Role and Attire
The Works of the Flesh
The Twelve Foundations of the Holy City
The Gifts of the Holy Spirit
The Full Armour of God
The Ten Commandments
Spiritual Warfare
The purpose, significance, use, role and benefits of each of these topics will be explored as they relate to the example of Jesus Christ. The student will learn how these topics are relevant to his/her own life as a Christian, and will learn how to apply these to their lives.
Goals: Christ and the Christian--- to help the student to understad the mind of Christ so that s/he can better understand and live the Christian life. Christian Discipleship--- to provide the student with the biblical foundation needed to live the Christian life, and to disciple others for Jesus Christ. Relevance--- to show the relevance of Jesus Christ to every aspect of the Christian's life.
